FAQ About MYON!

What is Make Your Own Noise!? top

Make Your Own Noise! is the place to register your local noise nuisance. Using this website you can connect with others affected, sharing your experience and potentially gaining and providing guidance to other sufferers.

Membership is free and anonymous.

We plan to develop the site to help get you in contact with the right people and provide a body of proof to the suffering that certain nuisances are causing.

This site is still being developed, new features are regularly added and some bugs may be encountered. To help us in developing the site, we welcome your comments and suggestions on the feedback page.

What is a Nuisance / Complaint? top

A "Nuisance" can be registered about any disturbance caused by a business or other non-residential premise use. Currently we are only registering noise nuisances.

Domestic Complaints / Nuisances will be removed, for example complaining about your noisy neighbours (try this website).

On this site, a Nuisance is a registry of a troublesome noise source, Complaints can then be added to this Nuisance. Therefore there can be many Complaints about a Nuisance, but there should only be one Nuisance entry.

What are the categories? top

Request for new category.

How do I register a Nuisance / Complaint? top

You need to become a member of MYON!. Once you are a member you can add Nuisances or share your Complaints about Nuisances already registered.

A member can register one Complaint per Nuisance. There is the opportunity for all members to discuss Nuisances/Complaints and all your entries can be edited or deleted.

What about if I disagree with what has been written about the Nuisance? top

There is a "Dispute" feature which allows people to challenge the integrity of a Nuisance. This will introduce a notice on the Nuisance declaring the dispute and someone from our admin may look into the issue and take necessary action.

We welcome discussion about Nuisances and Complaints, however discussion should be directed at the Nuisance/Complaint, not the individual. We aim to provide a productive forum of discussion, personal comments which are counter-productive may be removed.
